ABAÌRA! THE CACHACA FOR WINNERS

Abaìra, the latest addition to the Psenner range opened the Psenner stand at the trade fair MIA Pianeta Birra, Rimini 2009, inviting visitors to taste inspired cocktail creations based on this exotic product. In conjunction with the Italian Barmen’s Association (AIBES) Psenner has instituted the 'Miss Cocktail AIBES Cachaça Abaìra' award dedicated exclusively to bar ladies. In fact the flavour of Cachaça lends itself to the most imaginative creations with which women are often in their element. The event took place at the AIBES stand on 16th February and the only pre-condition imposed on the participants - judged by a panel of experts and specialist journalists - was the use of Cachaça Abaìra as the alcoholic base.

THE 2009 LUDWIG PSENNER AWARD

The history of the Psenner distillery was celebrated during the MIA Pianeta Birra fair in Rimini with an award dedicated to the memory of its founder Ludwig Psenner, a tribute to the incessant research which goes into the development of new products. The very first was the fruit brandy distilled from Williams pears which still enjoys enormous success. The presentation took place on 16th February in collaboration with the AIBES association before a jury of experts. The competition was restricted to the AIBES barmen with the pre-condition that they used a Psenner liqueur or brandy such as Kirsch, Slivovitz or Williams as a base for their cocktail. The top three competitors were awarded a commemorative cup.
